Description
Globally recognized and well-known standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) which describes the requirements to implement, maintain and improve a management system to protect against, reduce the likelihood of the occurrence of, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions when they arise.
Individual certification against ISO 22301 is of two types:
- ISO 22301 Lead Auditor: Professionals looking for a BCMS auditor role that looks after the complete Business Continuity audit cycle.
- ISO 22301 Lead Implementer – Professional looking for a BCMS implementer role in an organization that executes and manages BCMS plans.
- Organization-level certification against ISO 22301 can be obtained from any ISO-accredited institute.
Except for Clause 8 in ISO 22301:2019, the Annexure L requirements address many of the same areas as the core requirements of ISO 27001, covered in Section 4.1 through Section 10.2. Explicit changes in Clause 8 for ISO 22301 are as follows:
